Mask skills without panic

A step-by-step, structured approach to mask skills.

If mask skills have ever felt frustrating or overwhelming, you're not alone. Many divers have shared their difficulties with learning mask skills, particularly in busy training environments where there is little time to slow down, reduce pressure, and build familiarity gradually.

We developed Dive In®: Mask Skills Without Panic to offer a more structured, step-by-step approach to learning mask skills. We guide you to identify and address your personal triggers for discomfort while gradually becoming familiar with each step of the process.  As you become more comfortable with water around the face, changes in vision, and breathing through the regulator without a mask, you'll learn mask skills naturally. We don't believe in "pushing through" or "just getting it done". We believe in building familiarity gradually to support long-term skill development, confidence, and safer diving practices.

You will learn:

  • foundational lessons for understanding stress responses and personal triggers
  • practical exercises designed to gradually build familiarity
  • clear, step-by-step instructional videos for mask skills
  • bonus lessons offering practical tools to communicate and respond to distress underwater
  • practical strategies to reduce overwhelm and remain engaged during skill development

This course is designed to be completed progressively and revisited over time. We encourage you to move through at your own pace and only progress to the next exercise when you feel ready.

It also offers an introduction to Dive In®: our body-led approach to diving that prioritises physical and psychological safety.
