Fitzroy Island, Australia
Just 45 minutes by ferry from Cairns, Fitzroy Island brings rainforest, beach and fringing reef together in one setting. The reef is accessible directly from the island, with shallow coral gardens and diving suitable for both newer and experienced divers.
Staying on the island allows us to combine diving with our land-based sessions, while leaving plenty of time to enjoy Fitzroy itself.
Ferry transfers from Cairns Marlin Marina, just 15 minutes from Cairns International Airport (CNS) are included.
Our preferred time for Fitzroy experiences is May to October, during the cooler, drier months.
The Experience
Diving takes place on Fitzroy Island's fringing reef, with access from shore and, conditions permitting, by boat. The setting allows us to shape the diving around your experience level, interests and pace, whether you are learning to dive, building confidence or exploring as a certified diver.
Away from diving, there is plenty to do. Snorkel or kayak, visit the turtle rehabilitation centre, explore the island's walking trails and beaches, or simply enjoy some time at Fitzroy Island Resort.
Fitzroy is particularly well suited to families or couples where one person doesn't dive. There is plenty to do both independently and together. Non-diving participants can also join the somatic practices and reflective sessions on land.
